“And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31

Dear prayer partners,

How are you? Boy, what can happen much in just two months, everything changed! Perhaps you yourself are confronted with all the things that took place, or you are still in the middle of it. Because many of you, our prayerpartners, are living right there in those countries where all these things are taking place today!

I want to encourage all of you, while you are standing in the frontlines:

“Being filed with the Holy Spirit as Gods children, does not always mean that you are constant. Sometimes we are, sometimes we are not. It comes and it goes.

You cannot store such an experience to be used for later. You can not wrap, a fullfillment with and by God, with a golden ribbon. An enthousiastic discipel can be sometimes very empty.

As we look at Elijah. What a great performance when he took it up against all those Baal priests on mount Carmel. A man full of the Holy Spirit. A few weeks later he lost everything. Or like Peter: when Jesus asked him: “Art Thou the Christ, Son of the living God?”. But when Jesus was arrested, he said: “I do not know this man”.

What do you do when your life is that empty? Read what happened in the early church. As one they called upon the name of the Lord. “And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Praying and being filled with the Holy Spirit has all to do with one another.

The Bible tells us, that prayer is a wonderful power. Power in our own life, but also in that of others. If we pray litlle, we should not be surprised “when litlle happens”.

In the book of Revelation, you can read that the prayer of Gods children are a great factor in world history. Jesus Christ, our Lord, rules and listens to the prayers of the saints.

In one of the visions the apostle John had, we read that he was witness of a half hour of silent in the heavens. It was just right before the big final. Just before the end of the world was to be announched by the blowing of the seven trumpets. And what happened after that half hour of silence? Carried in were the prayers of the saints. As incense, a offering being brought, they rose before the face of God.

After that, the sound of the trumpets broke loose. The End started.

God surely takes our prayers into account. In heaven they are waitng for them. Revelation 8:1-5

I wish you all His blessing, power and love,

Roberto Wijnhof and the whole team of  Global Prayer Network.
